Make US Dreamers!
Last Sunday at Life Family was great! We are participating in One Prayer. Churches all over the world are spending the month of June sharing their thoughts on the question, “If I had just one prayer for the church, what would it be?” The first week, I spoke on my one prayer – Make Us Remember! I think that if we remembered what God has done in our lives, I mean actively remembered, lived in the reality of it, we would be different. We would be excited, we would be freed up to live and to love radically. We would be people of faith.
Last week got to watch Mark Batterson share his one prayer – Make Us Dreamers! Mark made a great point that if we read the Great Commission in the context of its time, we would realize the size of the “dream”. Not a dream in the sense of “wouldn’t that be cool”, but a dream in the sense of a God given vision. When Jesus said to go into all nations, most people had never travelled more than a couple of miles from where they were born. No planes, no trains, no automobiles, but oceans to cross and mountains to climb. That’s a BIG dream!
I am with you Mark – Make Us Dreamers! Let’s tear the top off the box and see what God might do!
