In Reality….
We all have “go to” phrases. The other day a friend told me that my “go to” phrase was “in reality”. In reality, I’m okay with that. I mean really, there are worse “go to” phrases. “Could Care Less”, “Ever Since the Wife and Kids Left”, “Send you partner seed gift to…”.
I’d rather talk about reality. If it is not real, let’s go play golf or do something else! We have all had salesmen that glad-hand us and seem to suddenly be very concerned about our every need. I remember a line that Robin Williams had in the movie The Cadillac Man, “I am never as close to someone as when I am just about to sell them something!” Hold on, I just threw-up in my mouth a little….
Jesus threw the moneychangers out of the temple, he ripped the Pharisees, but to the lowly sinner like me he offered a new life. That is real. It is also really different than what most people think of when they think about Christianity.
